Small business is a vital part of our community and economic growth, the committed staff at GWBEC are proud to play a role in the development of those businesses.

The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is a financial institution wholly owned by the government of Canada. BDC plays a leadership role in delivering financial, investment and consulting services to Canadian small businesses, with a particular focus on the technology and export sectors of the economy.

The Canada Business Network promotes entrepreneurship and innovation, and provides assistance through an organized network of service centres across Canada. There is a centre in each province and territory working with partners in many communities across their region, providing you with numerous service access points.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers tax laws for the Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories.

The Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) is a unique not-for-profit consortium of manufacturers, incorporated to facilitate each member's development, both individually and collectively, towards improving their competitiveness as a strong community infrastructure of world-class business.

The Government of Canada provides information for businesses on tax and tariff requirements, permits and regulations, intellectual property and copyright, how to fund or incorporate a business and how to hire employees or sell to government.

The Ontario government's free, online directory of tax incentives, tax credits and government support programmes for business.

To foster sustained economic growth as the "Voice of Business in Ontario". As the most diverse and representational business group in the province, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce works closely with governments, labour, academia, other business associations and various groups to create a stronger and more vibrant economy in Ontario.

The Rural Ontario Institute is a catalyst for dialogue, collaboration and action on issues facing rural Ontario and delivers leadership training and development to ensure that rural contributes to a healthy vibrant Ontario.

The Wellington-Waterloo Community Futures Development Corporation (WWCFDC) is a federally supported not-for-profit Community Futures Development Corporation, governed by volunteers in partnership with Industry Canada. The services provided by the WWCFDC exist to promote economic growth and community development of the Region of Waterloo and the County of Wellington.

The Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin provides guidance regarding important workforce and employment challenges facing Waterloo, Wellington and Dufferin.
