Mapleton's Good Neighbour Program

A place where neighbours help neighbours through Time, Talent, and Treasure.

The Mapleton Good Neighbours Community connects residents who need a helping hand with those who are willing to offer support.

Whether you are new to the community or have lived here for generations, this program is built on one simple idea: we take care of each other.

From small everyday tasks to meaningful connections, this is a space where kindness becomes action and neighbours become support systems.

Our community is built around two simple pathways:

I Need Help - If you could use support with everyday tasks, you can reach out through our request form.

I Can Help - If you have time, skills, or resources to share, you can offer your support to others in the community.

Together, these two pathways create a simple, local network of care.

Reaching out for help is a way of staying connected, not a sign of independence lost, but community gained.

Support may include:

  • Grocery pick-ups or errands
  • Light household tasks
  • Snow shovelling or yard help
  • Technology support (phones, video calls, etc.)
  • Small home tasks like changing lightbulbs or basic assistance

A local coordinator will review your request and help connect you with a neighbour who can assist.

Please click the "I Need Help" button above for help.

Every person has something to offer: time, skills, experience, or kindness.

You may choose to help by offering:

  • Time: visits, errands, rides, companionship
  • Treasure: tools, books, garden produce, supplies
  • Talent: cooking, repairs, sewing, tech support, tutoring, professional skills

This is a place where generations connect, skills are shared, and isolation is reduced through simple acts of care.

Strong communities are built through connection.

The Mapleton Good Neighbours Community helps reduce isolation, supports independence, and strengthens relationships between residents of all ages.

Whether it’s a conversation over coffee or help with a small task, every interaction builds a more connected and caring community.
